Baby Tired Signs
Recognising and acting on your baby’s ‘tired cues’ may help your baby settle earlier. A baby who is overtired takes longer to settle to sleep.
Recognising tired signs in your newborn baby:
- Facial grimacing
- Wandering or cross-eyed
- Breaking eye contact
- Jerky limb movements
- Clenched fists
Recognising Tired Signs in an older baby:
- Rubbing eyes
- Whinges and whines
- Refuses to feed or eat
- Won’t play on his own
Once you have identified your baby’s tired signs and cues help him settle and fall sleep.
